We all strike for holidays and spoil the fanciest destinations far far away. Even we are not having holidays on the balcony this year there are so many little things to discover in Berlin.
Yesterday we passed this beauty. The Sri Mayurapathy Murugan Tempel at Blaschkoalle in Berlin Britz. The temple did open in September 2013. It is a Hindu temple open for all interested residents and visitors all day long. The community wishes this small Hindu milestone to become a meeting point for all kind of religions, friends of their religion, other cultures and interested tourists.
As the Gods are holy to the Hindus it is not permitted to film or take pictures within the temple and of the Gods. Once a year Murugan, named as the chief God of the Berlin Tamil community, leaves the temple during Thiruvila, one of the highest celebrations of the Hindus, for a public procession through the boroughs of Britz.
This exotic building within the broad urban jungle once again shows the culture diversity of Berlin.
