Last weekend we made a little trip to Hanover. The capital of high standard German. Within a few minutes the Berlin crowd understood that it was not the task of the city to adapt us but the task of us to adapt to the city and the people. Just to catch the discussion of integration debate.
But more important what happened in Hanover. We fell in love with Hanover Linden where our cool friends live, of course where else. Linden is a mixture of Kreuzberg/ Prenzlauer Berg and sometimes a few bits of good old Neukölln. We met very nice people with beautiful homes and walked the whole day through the neighborhoods to explore the city.
Our very first and absolute new ice cream hot spot (tested as the best) is the Bohne (Limmerstraße 56). Being out of rice pudding ice cream on Friday they managed to serve some on Sunday. Thanks to the amazing waitress who somehow made it happen. Very fancy, if you are having your ice cream in house they will serve it in cute enamel mugs.
Signed in as the Burger Police we entered The Harp (Schwarzer Bär 1) for a big burger party and have to admit these burgers are delicious and have to be arrested. To try them all we had to come back the next day. Very high rated the ‘steak burger’ followed by the ‘pulled pork burger’ this place made us not only sated but delighted. They have burgers of honor every week so there is a lot more to try. Despite the burgers this is a traditional pub with a large variety of draft beers. On weekends you should make a reservation in advance.
Hanging out at the Ihme with lemonade, strolling around the Maschseefest (we did not get this), dancing at the Faust at night and strolling on the flea market at day we did not find any of these enamel mugs we fell in love with, at the Fährmannsfest we had beer before four and we made a lot of eunuch pancakes. Thank you for having us. Cheers hangover.
