Eastern is knocking on the door and we are going crazy on the baking frontier. Screening the internet for seasonal ideas we found a green cake with no food ink but spinach.
What you need!
200 gramm frozen spinach
100 gramm white chocolate
350 ml sunflower oil
grated peel and juice of one bio lemon+ 4–5 spoons lemon juice
3 eggs (size M)
200 gramm sugar
1 package vanilla sugar
300 gramm flour
1 package baking powder
250 gramm icing sugar
eatable blossoms for decoration
fat and flour for the baking tin
How to mix it up!
Defreeze spinach and squeeze out the liquits. Chop choclate and melt in a water bath. Coarsely chop the spinach, add the oil and mash finely with a blender. Mix with grated peel and juice of lemon. Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar until thick and creamy. Mix flour and baking powder with each other. Alternately fold in the spinach mass and flour under the egg mass. Stir in the melted chocolate.
Fill the dough into grandma’s greased cake pan. Bake in a pre-heated oven (fan oven at 150 °C) about 1 hour.
After cooling about 10 minutes bring down on the oven kit. Make a creamy icing from lemon juice and icing sugar and disperse on the cool cake. Decorate with the eatable blossoms.
As the current IKEA radio add just said green was the colour of love in the middle ages. So spread the love with your friends.
